Editor, Writer, Deejay, and Promoter Mayra E began her establishment with Writing/Editing in 1998 and Djing/Promotions in 2010. Born in the 80′s in Phoenix, AZ to Carmen and Marco Hernandez, she’s a middle child and youngest of her sisters. A part from her parents, her two older sisters have been huge role models in her life. Both Carmen Jr. an Elementary School teacher and Maribel a Speech Pathologist, partially raised Mayra and her little brother Marco through out their teen years due to their parents divorce in 1996.
During Junior High, Mayra met Luis Sias, who was at the time her friend and now husband. In 1998, she began high school at South Mountain and graduated in 2002. Post high school, Mayra attended South Mountain Community College, leading her to a career path into Journalism. Through out time, she’s privately written poetry, children stories, small chapters, interviews, journal entries, and lyrics. Journalism was primarily chosen because of screen writing and editing. While in college an opportunity arose, as she was accepted to a vocational school in Daytona Beach, FL. Deciding to take the opportunity, Mayra left Phoenix and lived in Daytona Beach for 3 months to start school in becoming a Flight Attendant. After being certified in 2004 she began employment with US Airways and was based in Harrisburg, PA.
In 2005, Mayra reunited with her friend Luis and began a relationship leading her to move back to Phoenix, AZ in 2006. Luis, known as LES735 a well known Turntablist/DJ and a founder of Avenue of the Arts Crew still performs heavily within the Underground Hip-Hop community. Changing her influences in music, Les invited her to local shows and events to open up her mind in different music and opportunity. Mayra and Les married in 2007 and had their first child Leah in 2010. Being supportive of Les’ music, she asked for his help in learning the skill of Djing. With improvement through out the last few years, she officially began Djing publicly in 2010.
Since her debut to the public in 2010, Mayra has Dj’d several local Phoenix venues including: The Hidden House, The Lost Leaf, Philthy Phil’s, Red Owl, Chaser’s Nightclub, and The Blunt Club.
